7 Days Samburu, Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara Safari

Itinerary

1. Day

   Day 1

   Nairobi – Samburu Pick up from the airport and depart for Samburu National Reserve, located along the Ewaso Ng’iro River. Samburu is renowned for excellent game viewing, including reticulated giraffes, elephants and the three big cats. Arrive at Ashnil Camp for lunch and relaxation before heading out for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at camp.

2. Day

   Day 2

   Samburu After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive. Explore the reserve in search of Samburu’s distinctive northern wildlife, including gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, oryx and reticulated giraffe. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo and hippos can also be encountered. Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.

3. Day

   Day 3

   Samburu – Lake Nakuru After breakfast and checkout, enjoy an en-route game drive as you leave Samburu before continuing to Lake Nakuru. Arrive in time for lunch and relaxation, followed by an afternoon game drive. Look out for flamingos and the park’s rich birdlife, as well as Rothschild’s giraffes, black and white rhinos, lions, buffalo, leopards and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

4. Day

   Day 4

   Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara After breakfast, depart by road for the Masai Mara. The reserve is famous for its extraordinary wildlife and the Great Wildebeest Migration. Arrive at camp, check in and enjoy lunch overlooking the Mara River, where hippos may be seen along the riverbanks. Later, head out for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at camp.

5. Day

   Day 5

   Masai Mara Spend the day experiencing the Masai Mara and its spectacular landscapes and wildlife. Note: The supplied itinerary does not contain a separate Day 5 programme, so no additional activities have been added here.

6. Day

   Day 6

   Masai Mara After breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch. Explore the reserve in search of the Big Five, including its famous black-maned lions, as well as cheetahs and abundant plains wildlife. The Mara is also home to an extraordinary variety of bird species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

7. Day

   Day 7

   Masai Mara – Nairobi After breakfast and checkout, visit a Maasai village for an opportunity to learn about Maasai culture and purchase locally made souvenirs. Begin the journey back to Nairobi with a lunch stop along the way. Arrive in Nairobi for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
